The Consulate General of P.R. China and ICFA Karnataka Co-host Event in Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of China-India Diplomatic Ties

On January 19th, the Consulate General in Mumbai and ICFA Karnataka co-host an celebrating event in Bangalore in honour of the 70th anniversary of China-India diplomatic ties. Chinese Ambassador to India H.E. Sun Weidong and his wife Dr. Bao Jiqing, Chinese Consul General in Mumbai Mr. Tang Guocai and his wife Ma Chunsun, and Mr. P.G.R Sindhia, Honorary President of ICFA Karnataka, Mr. Srinivas Gowda, President of ICFA Karnataka, as well as guests from political, business, academic, artistic circles, attended the event.

 

In his speech, Ambassador Sun Weidong appreciated ICFA Karnataka for its longtime efforts for the China-India friendship. He pointed out that top leaders had made important consensus on promoting bilateral cultural exchanges and designated 2020 to be year of China-India cultural exchanges. We should follow the consensus reached by top leaders, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the cultural field, and inject new impetus into bilateral relations.

Consul General Tang Guocai said that ICFA Karnataka is one of the earliest local China-India friendship associations across India. Many ICFA members witnessed the visit of Premier Zhou Enlai and other Chinese leaders visiting Karnataka in the past decades. He said that Bangalore has great development potential and its cooperation with China is gaining momentum. The Chinese Consulate in Mumbai is ready to work with friends in Bangalore and Karnataka to write a new chapter in exchanges and cooperation between China and India.
